michelham priory

Hidden away in the Cuckmere Valley this wedding venue in Sussex is at the foot of the South Downs national park; the stunning Michelham Priory.

The estate is surrounded by the longest water-filled moat in England, encircling the enchanting priory on its very own island. The Elizabethan Great Barn is a soaring venue filled with charm, light and history and ready to be filled with happy guests as it has been for centuries. There are two places to get married at Michelham, the Priors Chamber seating up to 60 inside the priory, or for larger parties for up to 120 the barn itself. This Wedding venue in Sussex is a truly charming place to say I do and celebrate with your loved ones, with plenty of land and the main lawn for drinks reception, peaceful water flowing by and the quiet of the countryside around you.

Rural Michelham Priory is perfectly situated near the market town of Hailsham between the Sussex villages of Arlington and Berwick. The Priory is easily accessible from the A27 and A22 and signposted with heritage signs.

The venue has its own team who will advise you on the venue and arrange a viewing – please contact the team on weddings@sussexpast.co.uk.

As one of the preferred caterers at the venue, we’re delighted to feature this wonderful venue on our list of the best venues in Sussex. All our menus featured on our website are available at this venue.
