We’re delighted at Circa Events to cater for the beautiful Gote Barn Sussex Venue, located just outside Lewes in Sussex. A rustic Elizabethan gem, nestled away in the heart of the East Sussex countryside, it would make a truly idyllic venue to host your wedding day.
Gote Barn, owned and run by the Craig family for over 75 years, specialises in unpasteurized milk from their herd of Jerseys and excellent, naturally-reared, lamb both grazed on the meadows near Glynde. The Grade II Listed barn itself, with high vaulted ceilings has been around since around the 1600’s with many of the barns original features still intact.
Situated right in the heart of the Downs in the beautiful Sussex countryside, part of the Glyndebourne Estate, Gote Barn Sussex Venue is 5 minutes from the center of Lewes and 20 minutes drive from Brighton.
The venue is not licensed for ceremonies but there are a number of local churches and licensed premises locally for you to hold your ceremony. We can help you find the perfect ceremony location, and then return to Gote Barn Sussex Wedding Venue for your celebrations.
Perfect for a beautiful countryside wedding reception, with the barns rustic and original charm as the background for your big day, the venue has a capacity for up to 180 seated guests for the day and up to 200 in the evening. With a lawn for drinks & canapes, surrounded by the most stunning views, the barn is perfect if you are looking for a venue to personalise and bring to life once again!

This venue is really special and as its newly opened as a wedding venue, you’ll have exclusive hire and the chance to hold your wedding at a really unique and charming venue none of your guests would have been to before!
As we are also the in-house Caterers at the venue, Circa will be able to design your own wedding breakfast with the assistance of our critically acclaimed Executive Chef and Director, Marc Bolger. From creative canapes, to formal three-course wedding breakfasts to Hog Roasts, BBQ or ‘Family Style’ sharing platters, during the day there are an impressive variety of potential dishes! Your guests can then experience some of Circa’s quirky evening food options such as The Circa Pizza Van, Bert & Ernie Street Food Karts, Bev the Gelato Bike and the Brighton Burger Company Van.
