Welcome to Circa in the Park
… the exciting new addition to our Circa family! We branched out to pastures new this June to the beautiful Stanmer Park, where you’ll find us just inside the Lower Lodges entrance, at the foot of Stanmer woods, next to the new adventure playground.
Our lovely cafe is open everyday of the week, come rain or shine, dishing up delicious food and drink to take away, including teas, Pharmacie Roasters’ coffee, a wide selection of soft drinks such as organic Ginger Beers and Kombuchas, and lots of savoury and sweet treats to enjoy on the lush lawns in front of the cafe, take with you for a walk in the woods, or lunch with friends whilst the littles explore the playground.
All our Circa-made savoury lunches and snacks are baked fresh in our kitchen, which are based on nearby Bevendean Farm, such as our Old School Sausage Rolls, Veggie Pastries, Focaccia Pizzas and selection of sourdough toasties with bread from Flourpot and locally made cheese. We also have a selection of breakfast English muffins, tasty filled croissants and fresh salad bowl specials, so you’ll often find something new to try on the menu. For something sweet, treat yourself to one of our freshly baked Cherry Bakewells, Chocolate Tiffins or other yummy traybakes by Lady of the Cake, a scoop or two of artisan Italian ice cream by Boho Gelato or one of our 100% sugar free and naturally delicious Lickalix ice lollies.
We cater for most dietries too, offering a choice of non dairy milk alternatives, vegan flapjacks, veggie specials, gluten free brownies and even vegan gelato. With many of our visitors being of the canine kind, it’s important we have treats for them too, and stock Frozzies frozen yoghurts to keep them cool. You’ll always find a bowl of water next to the cafe hatch too.
It’s a lovely 20 minute walk from Circa in the Park to Stanmer Village and the newly restored walled garden, One Garden, and there’s a new pathway which will take you there directly with benches dotted along the route for stop offs with a Circa Brownie.
If you’d rather take in Stanmer’s beautiful scenery on wheels instead of foot, you can now hire top of the range bikes from Circa in the Park courtesy of our kiosk neighbours Brighton Bike Hire. With a selection of mountain bikes to suit all abilities and ages, the whole family will love an afternoon exploring the Stanmer Park trails by bike. It’s easy peasy to book a bike online, just head to BrightonBikeHire.co.uk And remember to stock up with refreshments before your ride!
There are all sorts of ways to reach us in Stanmer Park, you can come by train, with Falmer Station being just a few stops from Brighton followed by just a 10 minute walk to us. If you’re coming by car turn off from Ditchling Road and Stony Mere Way, off Lewes Road. On arrival you’ll find plenty of pay and display parking right next to the cafe as well as a public toilet – which is always handy to know. Throughout the year, ‘Breeze’ buses link the city with some of the most popular countryside destinations within the South Downs National Park and this includes Stanmer Park. You can also reach the park with the buses 25, 78 and 79 from Brighton.
We look forward to welcoming you to Circa in the Park!
