Circa Events – what dream weddings are made of…

At Circa Events our aim is always to provide the highest quality service to our clients. Working with our local food suppliers, we use the best of what is available from trusted local companies. Your wedding or event meal is skillfully prepared by our team of talented chefs based on our farm near Brighton, East Sussex.

We also run two stunning Sussex wedding venues, Northease Manor and Laughton Barns, which offer two different but equally gorgeous locations for your day. Through our expertise in both catering and events, we can help you plan and arrange your perfect wedding, from supplying venues and catering, to venue set-up, event co-ordination and staffing.

MEET OUR TEAM

Marc Bolger

Director and Head Chef

With over 20 years in the catering business, including head chef roles at St. Martins Hotel and Havana Restaurant, Marc spent a year travelling Asia and Australia before opening Circa in 2000 as a pan-Asian fusion restaurant in the heart of Sussex. The restaurant went from strength to strength winning various awards and gaining national press coverage, leading to the opening of two more award-winning restaurants; Circa Fish and Circa Brasserie. The fast-growing popularity of weddings and corporate events at the restaurants naturally took Circa in a new direction, and in 2008 Circa Events was born. Now catering for 40 to 50 weddings a year and managing two exclusive venues, Marc is dedicated to providing outstanding tailor-made menus.

Joe Shanks

Head Chef

Joe has spent the past 10 years catering for some of the biggest and best events in the country including Glastonbury, the Isle of Wight Festival and major tours for the likes of Beyonce and the Rolling Stones. With experience catering for music events, product launches, fashion shows, weddings and VIP parties Joe has played a huge part in delivering exceptional food at Circa since 2011.

Charlie Cockburn

Event Manager

Charlie has been delivering well run and expertly planned events for the last 15 years, her goal is to ensure that each one is given a personal touch to make it unique and special. Having worked on a wide range of projects from large conferences to private parties, she brings with her a wealth of experience and can always provide advice and guidance on how to achieve a perfect result.

Ben Ranger

Bar Consultant

With over 16 years in the business Ben has managed some of the finest bars and restaurants in the South East including The Freemasons Arms and My Hotel Brighton. In 2010 he opened `The Hove Kitchen` which was so successful he was later named the official Face of Hove by adoring locals. Having worked alongside legendary chefs like Marc Bolger, Steve Beadle and Raymond Blanc Ben is devoted to providing a top quality service with top quality food and drink.
